Babies and Mums
Bums Legs and Tums
Picture this:
You are in a room with other mum’s and their babies, you don’t feel bad if your baby cries, needs feeding or changing. You are not the only one who maybe has been up all night or your baby is teething.
Most of the mum’s haven’t done any exercise for at least a year so you don’t have to be fit. You work at your own level and if your baby needs you, you see to them and then join back in the class.

So, how does the class work? In a normal bum’s leg’s and tum’s class you would use weights, but in the babies’ and mum’s, bum’s, leg’s and tum’s class you use your baby as resistance.

The class includes a warm up, stretch, exercises working the legs for example squats and lunges holding the baby, outer & inner thigh on the floor, bottoms with baby on tummy, stomach exercises with babies on tummy, press ups over the baby giving the baby kisses and to finish off, a stretch. The babies love it, they are stimulated through music and movement, they interact with other babies and they are introduced to exercise from an early age.
Mum’s love it as they are able to exercise with their baby in a comfortable environment and get to meet other mum’s.
Aiken Bodies run classes in Sure Start Children’s Centres in Essex, Walthamstow, Enfield and Barnet with more areas to be introduced in the near future and has been running the babies & mum’s, bum’s, leg’s and tum’s classes since 2007.
